FHA Announces HUD Form Updates in Mortgagee Letter 2020-49

On December 22, 2020, the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) posted Mortgagee Letter (ML) 2020-49 to announce the publication of a revised Form HUD-92900-A, Addendum to Uniform Residential Loan Application, and other FHA insured mortgage application forms.

The revised Form HUD-92900-A has many significant changes, as it will no longer be a form shared with the U.S Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The form removes all VA sections and includes new sections, such as Part II on page 1 which contains a consent to verify borrower’s social security number. New lines have been added for the borrower’s date of birth and social security number to be provided.

The combined HUD/VA version of the form may still be used for VA loans until the Department of Veterans Affairs issues its own update to the form.

The FHA has authorized optional use of the updated HUD Form 92900-A form, with mandatory use required for all FHA single family forward mortgages submitted for FHA insurance endorsements with case numbers assigned on or after March 22, 2021. 

DocMagic will be releasing the new form to production on February 4, 2021The updated form will replace the current version (Form ID: 261802A2.VA) in all generic FHA loan programs.

The additional revised HUD forms will be available in production on January 4, 2021.
