Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems, Inc. (“MERS”) recently published MERS Systems Procedures Manual Release 22.2, with an effective date of November 6, 2022. The manual includes a change to the MERS address under state-specific requirements for Indiana, Mississippi, New York, and Pennsylvania.
Where required the physical address for MERS should appear as 11819 Miami St., Suite 100, Omaha, NE 68164; P.O. Box 2026, Flint, MI 48501-2026. This is a change from the previous address of 1901 E. Voorhees Street, Suite C, Danville, IL 61834. The
To comply with the MERS update, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac revised uniform instrument instructions for Indiana, Mississippi, New York, and Pennsylvania security instruments to include the updated MERS address under authorized change 6(b). MERS announced that the new address may be used immediately but must be used no later than July 1, 2023
DocMagic is releasing the MERS address updates for uniform security instruments on December 8, 2022.
Additionally, the MERS address will be updated on other state-specific applicable forms, including second lien security instruments, HELOC mortgages, MERS assignment of mortgage, MERS assignment of deed of trust, and loan modification agreements. DocMagic will provide the additional form updates in production beginning January 5, 2023.
