VA Confirms Continued Use of HUD/VA Addendum to URLA

On June 4, 2021, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs ("VA") published Circular 26-21-9 to announce that the VA will continue to use the combined HUD/VA Addendum to Uniform Residential Loan Application (URLA), indicated as HUD-92900-A and VA Form 26-1802a.

This clarification comes from the VA after the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) posted Mortgagee Letter (ML) 2020-49 last December to announce that it would no longer accept the combined HUD/VA Addendum to URLA, and released a revised HUD-92900-A, Addendum to Uniform Residential Loan Application, with all VA sections and references removed.  This new version of HUD-92900-A became mandatory for all FHA single family forward mortgages with a case number assigned on or after March 22, 2021.

The VA circular makes it clear that an updated version of 26-1802a may be released in the future, but until then, all VA loan programs should continue using the current combined version of the HUD/VA Addendum to URLA.

DocMagic continued to provide the combined HUD/VA Addendum to URLA for VA loans after the release of the revised HUD-92900-A, and will do so until the Department of Veterans Affairs announces any changes to requirement for VA Form 26-1802a.
